Free Weights vs. Machines - Which Is Better For Building Muscle?

If you are familiar with working out and you want to sculpt your body, build definition and tone, or simply become stronger, it is usually better to stick with free weights.

However, if you are a man who is starting out and wants to build brawn and muscle, it is better to avoid the temptation to go to the free weights and starting looking like a macho man right away.

A machine doesn't build strength or muscle as fast as free weights, free weights are much better for muscle Hypertrophy.

It does prevent injury and gets your body used to a workout. Many men want to hit the ground running when it comes to fitness. This really isn't a good idea. Also there is less of a learning curve to using the machines.
